Born and raised in the scenic landscapes of Wales, electronic music artist and producer Tom Algorithm has always carried a deep connection to their Welsh heritage. Fluent in their native language, they grew up surrounded by the sounds of their father’s eclectic musical taste, which ranged from classical to pop, rock, and jazz. It was in this rich environment that their lifelong passion for music was nurtured. With their father’s regular piano playing as a constant source of inspiration, Tom Algorithm began their musical journey at a young age, picking up instruments like the trumpet, piano, guitar, and bass—skills they have honed for over two decades.

Early exposure to a variety of musical genres and instruments profoundly shaped Tom Algorithm’s approach to music. From the start, they were fascinated by how music could evoke emotions and create a shared experience among listeners. This fascination naturally led them to explore the emotional depth and complexity of electronic music. Particularly drawn to the expressive potential of progressive house, melodic techno, deep breaks, and deep house, Tom Algorithm found a perfect medium for crafting intricate soundscapes that resonate on a deep, emotive level.

Production has always been at the core of Tom Algorithm’s artistic identity. While they enjoy DJing and the unique connection it fosters with an audience, their true passion lies in the studio, where they immerse themselves in the creative process. The thrill of crafting a track from scratch, experimenting with different sounds and textures, and bringing it to life is an experience they cherish deeply. For Tom Algorithm, this process is more than just creating music—it’s about expressing their authentic self and sharing that with the world.

Throughout their career, Tom Algorithm has shared the stage with some of the most respected names in the industry, including Fritz Wentink, Kris Wadsworth, Dense & Pika, Tim Tama, Viers, and JoeFarr, among others. These experiences have not only honed their skills as a DJ but also deepened their appreciation for the art of performance. There is something truly magical about the energy of a live event—the way music can bring people together, create a sense of unity, and allow everyone to express their authentic selves.

In addition to performing at events across the UK and internationally, Tom Algorithm has received significant support for their productions. Their tracks have been featured on BBC radio and various worldwide podcasts, reaching audiences far and wide. One of their recent releases, “Aspirations,” garnered support from a wide range of artists, including Dax J, Alex Ridley [Re Define / UMFM Canada], Clarkee [Area 51], DJ K.N (Mass United), DKlub [Underground Kollektiv], Daryl Ux, David Asko, David Graham, Gavin Quiet [Dark Knights], Jake Nicholls [Uprising], Mark Neenan, Matteo (Different Grooves), Modular Phaze, Raymundo Rodriguez [Jaded / London Techno], Wayne DJC [Beyond Control], and Zuni [Tribal Waves]. The positive reception of “Aspirations” has been incredibly gratifying for Tom Algorithm, inspiring them to continue pushing the boundaries of their sound.

As they look towards the future, Tom Algorithm is excited to release their upcoming 7-track LP, “I’ll Miss You When You’re Gone,” this September. This new project represents a deeper exploration of their musical influences, moving beyond the funky techno and hard house vibes of their previous work. The LP reflects Tom Algorithm’s personal growth as an artist—a journey of self-discovery and creative evolution. Each track on the LP tells a story, delving into themes of change, loss, and the bittersweet nature of life’s transitions.

Beyond their work as a producer and DJ, Tom Algorithm is the founder of the event brand “TRST,” which hosts club events focused on techno, deep, and progressive genres. “TRST” is more than just a party—it’s a celebration of music’s power to unite us, creating spaces where people can be their true selves without fear of judgment. Through these events, Tom Algorithm aims to foster a sense of togetherness and community, where everyone is

welcome to share in the experience of music and dance.

Music has always been a source of comfort, inspiration, and connection for Tom Algorithm. It transcends language and cultural barriers, bringing people together in a shared experience of joy and catharsis. Whether it’s the deep, emotive melodies of a progressive house track or the driving rhythms of techno, music has the power to evoke powerful emotions and create lasting memories.

As an artist, Tom Algorithm is committed to creating music that not only moves people on the dancefloor but also touches their hearts and minds. They believe that music is a reflection of our inner selves—a way to express our deepest emotions and connect with others on a profound level. In a world that often feels divided, Tom Algorithm sees music as a powerful tool to bring us together, to remind us of our shared humanity, and to celebrate our differences.

Reflecting on their journey, Tom Algorithm feels a deep sense of gratitude for the opportunities they have had and the people they have met along the way. From their early days learning the trumpet in Wales to performing on stages around the world, music has been a constant source of joy and fulfillment in their life. It has taught them the importance of perseverance, creativity, and staying true to oneself.

As they continue to evolve as an artist, Tom Algorithm is excited to see where this journey will take them next. Whether it’s through new releases, live performances, or hosting events with “TRST,” their goal is to continue creating music that resonates with people and brings them together in a shared experience of joy, unity, and self-expression.

For Tom Algorithm, music is not just about the notes or the beats—it’s about the connections we make, the emotions we share, and the memories we create. It’s about finding our unique voice and using it to inspire others. And for Tom Algorithm, that is the true essence of personal growth and artistic expression.
